Starting in August 2026, new MY26 R1S and R1T vehicles and 2024 or older Rivian pre-owned vehicles will be eligible for the incentive. R2 will be available in 2027.

MyFirstEV Requirements: Under California’s MyFirstEV Program, purchasers and lessees can receive an incentive of $3,500 toward a new 2026 Rivian R1 or $1,750 toward a 2024 or older Rivian Pre-owned R1 vehicle. The vehicle must be purchased or leased directly from Rivian and ordered on or after August 12, 2026. Other Rivian vehicles are currently ineligible. To qualify, you must be a California resident and a first-time zero-emission electric vehicle (EV) owner or lessee, and the vehicle must be delivered and registered within California. Previous EV owners or lessees are not eligible. The incentive is applied at the time of purchase or lease. May be combined with other Rivian public offers and incentives. Available while funding and vehicle inventory lasts; subject to change or termination without notice. Eligibility is subject to verification, consumer self-attestation under penalty of perjury, proof of residency, and other program conditions. Void where prohibited.
Funding for the MyFirstEV Program is provided by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
