R2 Vehicle Maintenance
Caring for your vehicle should be simple and straightforward. Using the Rivian app, you can track your vehicle’s maintenance intervals, request a service appointment and shop for genuine replacement parts.
Maintenance Schedule
We recommend the following services be performed on time for all R2 vehicles. Consult your Owner's Guide for more information on maintaining your vehicle.

Replace brake fluid | Every 3 years |
Replace coolant | Every 108,000 miles |
Clean and lubricate brake calipers | Every 12,000 miles or 12 months |
Replace your cabin air filter and wiper blades as needed.
Service Information
Tire Rotation
Rotation of all four wheels and tires in a rearward cross pattern. Track your total tire mileage and set custom reminders to rotate your tires in the Rivian app (Service > Vehicle maintenance).

Comprehensive Inspection
Examines interior and exterior of the vehicle to ensure normal and safe operation and recommends part replacement as necessary. Covers the following and more:
Tire pressures and tread depth including spare (if equipped)
Brake pad and rotor thickness
Brake fluid level, moisture content and system corrosion
Suspension and underbody component damage, wear, and fastener torques
Vehicle windows for chips and cracks
Windshield washer fluid level, spray pattern
Wiper blade condition - recommend replacement as needed
Coolant level and test degrees of protection
Inspect radiator for damage and debris
Inspect low voltage battery, mounting and corrosion
Driver assistance sensor inspection
Verify interior and exterior light operation
Inspect and clean cabin air filter - recommend replacement as needed
Seat heating and cooling operation
Operation and cosmetic condition of interior and exterior parts
Vehicle functions check
Test drive for normal vehicle operation
Brake Fluid Flush
Replaces the hydraulic brake fluid in the vehicle braking system. Includes bleed procedure on all calipers.
Coolant Service
Drain and replace the vehicle's coolant using a vacuum procedure.
