Are the cameras continuously recording, even when the vehicle is off?

The interior camera captures images only when you have opted in to such image collection, and only when the vehicle is in Drive. If you have not opted in to interior camera data collection, the camera should be off. Exterior cameras are active whenever the vehicle is on. They can also be activated while the vehicle is off by certain triggers, such as motion, if you have Gear Guard enabled. You can opt out of exterior camera images being used for product improvement on the “Data and Privacy” screen of the vehicle’s Settings menu.
