Autonomy Early Access Program
The Autonomy Early Access Program is an invitation-only program that puts next-generation Autonomy features into the hands of real owners, in real driving conditions, before they ever reach a general release.
All owners with an active Autonomy+ subscription can indicate their interest to join the Autonomy Early Access Program by applying through their Rivian account. Invitations go to a limited group of owners with an active Autonomy+ subscription, high Autonomy feature usage, and a clean recent safety record.
We are launching this program starting with owners in California and Florida, with more areas to follow. Regardless of where you live, you can express interest through the Autonomy Early Access tile in your Rivian account; it helps us decide where to expand next. Owners in Canada are not eligible to participate at this time.
If you meet the eligibility requirements but do not see the tile, please check back shortly, as the eligible owner pool is updated periodically.
Once you are in the program, features aren’t limited to these areas, so you can use them on supported roads, wherever you drive in the US.

General
What is the Autonomy Early Access Program?
Rivian’s Autonomy Early Access Program is an invite-only program designed to collect feedback on driver assistance features that are internally validated and pass safety review, before they are rolled out to the broader fleet.
By giving select owners early access to new driver assistance features - beginning this year with Point to Point - the program provides Rivian with vital real-world data and feedback to refine Autonomy features for public release.
Which vehicles are eligible for the Autonomy Early Access Program?
US R1 Gen 2 and R2 with active Autonomy+ (trials excluded) in selected states. Gen 1 and Canada excluded.
Interest is open to Autonomy+ subscribers in all states, but participant selection will roll out to select initial states first and steadily expand prior to the nationwide 2027 release.
How do I know if my VIN is eligible for the Autonomy Early Access Program?
If you are eligible for the program, you will automatically see the Autonomy Early Access Sign-up Tile after your log in to your Rivian.com Account Page.
Note: The tile shows only for the primary owner's account, so a secondary driver logging in won't see it even if the vehicle is eligible.
Why don't I see the tile to apply for this program?
Invitations are going out to eligible owners on a rolling basis beginning on October 15, 2026.
What is the process for joining the Autonomy Early Access Program?
Provide interest: Sign in to your Rivian.com Account. If you’re eligible, you’ll see the Autonomy Early Access tile. Review the program overview and agree to the pre-enrollment consent to indicate interest. You’ll receive a confirmation email.
Rivian review: Rivian reviews interest on a rolling basis, based on factors including, but not limited to, safe driving history, Autonomy feature usage, vehicle model and driving state. Your submission stays on file for future phases, and you don’t need to reapply.
Be notified about selection: If you’re selected, we’ll email you and your Account tile will update with your next step.
Confirm participation: Review and sign the Participation Agreement in your Rivian.com Account. It explains the data collected and what’s expected, and you can decline. Your spot is confirmed once you sign.
Start receiving early-access autonomy features: Selected participants receive new Autonomy features through over-the-air updates, beginning with Point to Point, and are asked to actively use the early access feature, promptly provide feedback on the monthly survey, and share relevant program data outlined in participation agreement under NDA.
What comes next after I submit my interest in the Program?
Filling out the form in your Rivian Account indicates interest in participation. Based on this interest, Rivian will determine eligibility to participate in the program. If you are selected, we will follow up directly with you via email to confirm your enrollment in the program.
When will every Autonomy+ subscriber get Point to Point hands free driving?
Point to Point will launch first through the Autonomy Early Access Program in late 2026 before expanding broadly in 2027 to Gen 2 R1 and R2 vehicles on Autonomy+.
What safety scores or safety metrics are used for selection?
Considerations for clean safety records include:
Forward collision warnings
True collisions events
Other safety related metrics
Rivian also balances the group by region, vehicle model, and other factors so the participant group reflects the broader owner community.
Owner Eligibility
What are the invitation parameters?
Invitations to apply to program will be sent on a rolling basis to eligible owners with an active Autonomy+ subscription.
Note: the clean recent safety record is considered during participant selection phase, not during initial invite eligibility determination
Is invite eligibility a one-time check?
No. Eligibility to apply to program is re-verified every 30 days, and membership is revocable at Rivian's discretion at any time.
Why wasn’t I selected for the Autonomy Early Access Program?
Spots are limited, and Rivian uses a combination of factors to determine the selection of Autonomy Early Access Program participants, including but not limited to safe driving history, autonomy feature usage, vehicle model and driving state.
Even if you do not meet the needs for the current recruitment phase, your submission will be kept on file and will be considered for future recruitment phases. You do not need to re-apply to be considered for future expansion of the program.
How do I know if I was invited to participate in the Autonomy Early Access Program?
Selected owners will receive an email. Selected owners see a new step in their Rivian.com Account where they sign the participation agreement. Your spot is confirmed once you sign the participation agreement in your Rivian.com Account Page.
If I did not receive an invitation in this phase, will I be eligible in the future?
We plan to expand the program over time. If the Autonomy Early Access tile is available in your Rivian.com Account, you can register your interest, and your application stays on file. You don't need to reapply.
Why didn't I get an email?
A customer may not have received the email if they unsubscribed from Rivian emails. If they are eligible to apply and indicate interest in the program, the sign-up tile will appear in their rivian.com web account.
Participation
What is required from Program participants?

Surveys and Interviews: Participate in mandatory program surveys shared monthly and be available for one-on-one interviews or focus groups as needed.

What are the benefits for participating?
Early Access: Receive new Autonomy features via over-the-air updates
Autonomy Early Access Newsletter: Get behind-the-scenes visibility into what we’re building and why we’re building it
Do I get paid for participating?

Can Rivian remove participants from the program?
Rivian may remove participants who don't meet ongoing safety or participation requirements. Eligibility is re-checked roughly every 30 days.
What happens when another driver uses my enrolled vehicle?
The primary owner of the enrolled vehicle agrees to (a) inform all secondary owners and drivers of the vehicle of the enrollment in the Program and the Program Features and (b) ensure that other drivers comply with the terms of the Autonomy Early Access Program.
What happens if I cancel Autonomy+ or otherwise no longer meet requirements?
Eligibility is re-verified every 30-days. Participation can be suspended or ended for cancellation of Autonomy+, ownership change, failed checks, or terms violations. Please inform us if anything changes.
Is an active Connect+ subscription required to participate in this program?
No, a Connect+ subscription is not required.
Data Usage
What data am I agreeing to share, and how will it be used?
In order to be considered for the program, you will need to agree to the pre-enrollment consent which will authorize Rivian to review the following data already associated with your Rivian vehicle and vehicle account: (a) prior vehicle software and feature usage history; (b) general driving and vehicle operation history; and (c) your prior participation in other Rivian programs.
Once you are selected to participate in the program, we will outline additional details on the data we collect and how we use it. You will have the opportunity to review this information and decide if you would like to participate before moving forward.
Is my data shared outside Rivian?
To be considered, you only consent to Rivian reviewing data already associated with your vehicle and account to determine eligibility. If you're not selected, Rivian won't use that data for any other purpose. Selected participants will receive full details on the data we collect and how we use it.
Will any of my vehicle's camera footage be shared if I participate in this program?
Applying to the program doesn't involve sharing any camera footage. If you're selected, the Participation Agreement details the data collected, including camera data.
