What are the lease wear and use guidelines?
Wear and use guidelines include vehicle condition and mileage. Vehicles with wear outside of normal use and/or mileage beyond the limit set in your lease agreement may incur additional charges.
Vehicle mileage
As a part of your leasing terms, you set your mileage limit. Any excess mileage beyond your mileage limit will be billed at a rate of 30 cents per mile as indicated in your lease agreement.
Vehicle condition
Returning a vehicle with excessive wear, aftermarket parts or different equipment than the original configuration may incur additional charges.
We recommend scheduling a pre-term inspection before returning your vehicle to identify any repairs that may avoid additional lease-end fees.
Area | Excessive wear |
|---|---|
Exterior | Scratches, chips, dents, pits, rust, holes or cracks in the wheels or exterior surfaces, windshield or other glass surfaces or metal work. Damage due to improper, poor quality or incomplete repairs or paint work. Bubbling, scratched or peeling film (paint protection or window tint). |
Interior | Holes, tears, burns, stains, strong odors or excessively worn areas in the carpet or other interior surfaces. |
Mechanical | Missing, damaged or nonworking mechanical equipment, safety, electrical or other parts or accessories. |
Frame | Damage to the vehicle's frame or alignment. |
Tires | Tire tread must be at least 1/8” (4/32”) at the lowest point and may not contain any other damage. Replacement tires must be of comparable quality to the original configuration. All tires must match in brand, load rating, speed rating and size (except for vehicles requiring staggered sizes from front to rear). |
Exclusions and limitations | Any damage resulting from abuse or misuse of the vehicle. Other items may be excluded as set forth in your lease agreement. |
