What are Rivian Rewards?
All US-based* Rivian owners have a personalized referral code found in their Account and the profile of their Rivian app.
When someone uses an owner’s referral code during checkout of a qualifying R1 Shop vehicle, then takes delivery – both the original owner (referrer) and new owner (referee) get rewards!
750 points** that can be redeemed in Gear Shop or R1 Shop (1 point equals 1 dollar in credit)
6 months of charging at Rivian Adventure Network sites (up to a lifetime limit of three years)
To celebrate the start of the rewards program, we’ll also be inviting the first 100 owners that make 25 qualifying referrals to a special Rivian Adventure Weekend hosted next year.
Where do I see my owner rewards summary?
Your sharable referral link and rewards summary can be viewed in the rewards section of your Account.
When will rewards be added to my account?
Both you and the new owner you referred will see rewards added to your Account within two weeks of their qualifying delivery of an R1 Shop vehicle.
Is there a limit to how many times my referral code can be used?
No, there’s no limit to how many times your referral code can be used by others. There’s also no cap on how many total points you can earn, but there is a lifetime limit on how much no-cost Rivian Adventure Network charging you can accumulate (3 years in total).
Do points expire?
Yes, points expire two years after being added to your account.
How do I use my points?
You'll have the option of redeeming your points during checkout in both Gear Shop and R1 Shop***.
Does this mean I can buy a Rivian entirely with points?
Almost! Points can be applied toward the final purchase price of a qualifying R1 Shop vehicle – however, points cannot be used for vehicle deposits, custom vehicle configurations, reservations, or vehicle purchases outside of Rivian's R1 Shop.
Do I still have to pay taxes when redeeming points in Gear Shop?
Points are redeemed “post-tax” meaning if you have enough points, they will cover your entire purchase including tax.
Can I apply my points towards service?
Points cannot be used towards vehicle service, parts or items that require installation by Rivian Service.
How do I use my Rivian Adventure Network charging reward?
Your Account will show how much time you have left of no-cost Rivian Adventure Network charging. Just plug and charge – no extra steps required to use your reward.
If I’m a current owner, can I submit my own referral code when purchasing a second Rivian through R1 Shop?
Yes, you can use your own referral code when purchasing your next Rivian through R1 Shop.
When will the rewards program launch in Canada?
We expect to launch our rewards program for Canadian owners in 2025
Will the rewards program grow over time?
Yes! We plan to expand both how owners can earn points and the ways they can be redeemed over time.

* Due to state law, residents of Ohio and Virginia can’t earn referral rewards – but when they share their code with someone who subsequently takes delivery of a qualifying R1 Shop vehicle, that new owner will receive rewards.
** 750 point reward on qualifying deliveries made on or before December 31, 2024. Point reward amount subject to change after that date.
