What are Rivian Rewards?
R1 and R2 owners in the United States have a unique referral code that can be used by friends and family when they order a new R1S or R1T. Owners can find their referral code and view a summary of their referral in their Rivian account or in the Rivian app. New buyers can enter a referral code during the checkout process for an eligible vehicle.
When an order is placed with referral code, the buyer and the referrer both earn Rivian Rewards points,¹ plus three months of charging on the Rivian Adventure Network.
Buyer rewards
The amount of Rivian Reward points you’ll earn depends on the vehicle configuration ordered. You’ll receive your rewards after taking delivery of your vehicle.

Owner rewards
Owners can find their referral code, explore their benefits and learn about earning referral points and other rewards from their Rivian account or in the Rivian app (Rewards > View terms).
In addition to rewards points, owners that achieve certain milestones will also earn one-time rewards:
10 referrals: receive a one-of-a-kind memento as a token of our appreciation. If you've already earned 10 referrals, we'll be sharing details and shipping information soon.
25 referrals: earn an invitation to an exclusive retreat hosted by the Rivian Team with food, adventure and connection.²

Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive my points?
Both buyer and referrer will see Rivian Rewards points added to their Rivian accounts within 24 hours following the buyer's delivery.
How do I use my points?
Use any Rivian Rewards points you’ve earned towards products in Gear Shop, on select vehicle upgrades available in your Rivian account or even on a new R1 or R2 purchase.³
Do points expire?
Yes, points expire two years after being added to your account.
Is there a limit to how many points I can earn?
Owners in California can earn a maximum of 25 referral rewards per year.
Owners in Ohio and Virginia can’t earn rewards through referrals. But if they share their referral code with someone, that buyer can still earn rewards points.
Can I earn points when referring someone to buy R2?
Right now, only orders for a new R1 are eligible to earn Rivian Rewards points. However, you can use points when purchasing R2.
How do I use my Rivian Adventure Network charging reward?
Just plug and charge, no extra steps required. Your account will show how much time you have left.
You can earn up to a cumulative three years (36 months) of charging on the Rivian Adventure Network.
Can I apply my points towards service?
You can apply points towards select vehicle accessories that require installation like a wheel and tire set, Wireless Charger or Powered Tonneau Cover.
Can I use my own referral code when purchasing my next Rivian?
Yes, you can use your own referral code when purchasing your next Rivian.
