R2 Performance features semi-active suspension — a dynamic system that adapts to the road and your driving inputs. This means tighter, more responsive handling at high speeds and a softer, more comfortable ride, both on-road and off-road.
Drive modes transform the character of your R2 with the touch of a button — adjusting suspension, steering and accelerator behaviour for the task at hand. R2 Performance features a full range of modes, from Rally to Snow to Soft Sand.
Our interiors welcome with warm materials, durable finishes and elevated craftsmanship.
Inspired by the dynamic dark tones of volcanic rock, this interior is crafted with upcycled birch wood and textile accents. Available with Premium and Performance.
From airy backseat to hidden storage, every detail was carefully considered to make the most of the ride.
Our signature Rivian Torch pops out of the door when you need to illuminate your adventures. Included with Premium and Performance.
Make room for long items like skis or lumber without sacrificing backseat comfort.
Long roadtrip, no problem. There’s room to stretch out in the backseat.
Plenty of headroom for all your passengers, even the ones over 6 feet tall.
From frunk to rear cargo, you can pack up to 5 suitcases, 3 backpacks, a stroller and more.
The Rivian mobile app is your day-to-day companion for driving, customizing, adventuring and caring for your vehicle.
With a digital key on your phone or smartwatch, all you have to do is walk up and get in.
You tell us where you want to go, we’ll tell you how to get there and where to charge.
Easily pop the frunk, warm up the cabin or open a window from a distance with a tap.
Access your favourite features from anywhere with the Rivian app for Apple Watch.
Check in on your R2 from almost anywhere with Gear Guard Live Cam (requires Connect+).
Your R2 has an AI-powered voice assistant that helps you with daily tasks and gets smarter over time.⁵
Experience features that make every drive more effortless.⁶ Your R2 delivery includes a 60-day trial of Autonomy+.
Enjoy hands-free assisted driving on 5.5 million kilometres of roads in the US and Canada. If lanes are clearly marked, you can drive hands-free.⁷
When Universal Hands-Free is engaged, turn on the blinker and your vehicle will change lanes when the time is right.⁸
Capable of 200 trillion operations per second, Rivian's on-board processor and in-vehicle inference platform enable us to continually add new features.
R2 is built with safety in mind — with 20+ included features that help you do everything from avoid collisions to park in tight spots.

Charging costs vary based on the cost of electricity in your area. In general, when charging at home, you can expect to fully charge a Rivian vehicle for about half the cost of a tank of gas.
You can also program your Rivian Wall Charger to accept charge during off-peak hours when energy rates are most affordable, further lowering your costs.
For public charging, pricing varies as each charging network sets its own price. Pricing often correlates to the charger’s speed and even still, pricing is typically at or below the cost of gasoline. Refer to the charger’s screen for specific pricing details.
Depending on your suspension settings and wheel size, the maximum water fording height of the R1T is 43.1 inches, 43.0 inches for R1S and 19.7 inches for R2 while all the doors and storage spaces are fully closed. Do not open the vehicle while fording water as this can flood the interior which can damage the vehicle.
Towing capacity will vary by vehicle and the type of hitch used.
When equipped with the Tow Package, R2 has a towing capacity of 2,000 kg (4,400 lb).
A weight distributing hitch is required to achieve the maximum towing capability of R1S and R1T. Without a weight distributing hitch, the towing capacity is 2,268 kg (5,000 lb).
