Holiday Travel Made Easy with Rivian

Last year, AAA estimatedOpens in new tab nearly 80 million people were traveling for Thanksgiving, with over 71 million of those travelers driving to their gathering—the largest number of cars on the road during the holiday in a decade. And between their comfort, performance and durability, Rivian vehicles are built for roadtripping.

Longhaul trips in an electric vehicle require charging stops, and through our charging network and vehicle features, we’re committed to making public charging easier than ever, so you can get to your loved ones on schedule.

Real-time information and seamless charging

Rivian’s in-vehicle navigation and mobile app provide real-time information about charging stops, including available chargers and power levels, and Charging Scores, which show how reliable a station is based on the experiences of recent drivers’ sessions. These features, combined with Plug & Charge—the ability to connect and pay seamlessly—take the guesswork out of EV road trips.

With a recent software update, we’ve added realtime charger availability and speeds into Rivian’s navigation and mobile app, plus Plug & Charge for two popular networks: Electrify AmericaOpens in new tab and IONNAOpens in new tab. See more information about a stop and then seamlessly charge and pay at Electrify America’s more than 5,000 chargers and growing, as well as all IONNA Rechargeries.

Even more ways to charge

Our charging network is designed to bring you peace of mind. Rivian drivers have access to more than 50,000 DC fast charging stations in North America, covering central travel corridors in major cities to the borders of remote national parks, making exploration and cross-country road trips possible. The Rivian Adventure Network is our own growing network of fast, reliable chargers, powered by 100% renewable energy and located around popular destinations and adventure routes to better support drivers in their adventures. And Rivian drivers also have access to the Tesla Supercharger Network.

Giving our drivers as many options as possible where they are is a priority, and we’re continuing to expand our charging footprint where our vehicles operate.

Trip Target quickly calculates the recommended charge needed for your next destination and notifies you the moment your vehicle is ready to go. Other useful features help you understand energy consumption variables, like elevation and temperature, and allow on-demand battery preconditioning.

Rivian Navigation with Google Maps provides the trusted traffic, routing and ETA features from Google Maps together with Rivian’s custom EV navigation features. See timely notifications about traffic, accidents and faster routes available thanks to Google’s foundational mapping technology, and explore along your route with tappable points of interest, making an easy task out of discovering a lunch spot along the way that will please all of your passengers.

Custom EV navigation features from Rivian give you tailored information, built for your unique vehicle. Rivian’s Range on Arrival estimate shows you the remaining battery you’ll have at your destination. The estimate is specific to your vehicle and driving environment, adjusts as you drive, and factors in whether you’re using accessories, gear, or trailers. You’re also able to choose how you view your range: in percentage, distance, or both.

With these features—including the new functionality for Electrify America and IONNA locations—you can venture to your holiday gathering with ease, focusing on enjoying the journey and the people at your destination.
