Does the Rivian app use my location?
Yes, if you enable location permissions, the Rivian app can use real-time location to provide core functionality and services, such as using your phone as a key to your vehicle or finding a nearby charging station. Using your phone as a key to the vehicle requires Bluetooth, which can function only if you have enabled the Rivian app to use your location in your device’s operating system settings.
You also have a choice in the vehicle whether to share your vehicle’s precise location with the Rivian app. If you do not share this location, charging schedule location is not available and Find My Rivian is not available in the app. See the “Data and Privacy” screen of the vehicle’s Settings menu for more information and to adjust these settings.
