The sun was out as we welcomed Rivian community members from across the country at our Venice Hub this past weekend for a conversation on all things design with Jeff Hammoud, Rivian’s Chief Design Officer.
Our community and their families mingled with team members from Rivian's Vehicle Design Studio where they discussed Rivian's design process, provided feedback, and got a hint of what’s to come in future designs from our Chief Design Officer.
"The design direction for R2 will build off the brand identity that we have established with R1. Specifically the two box silhouette and iconic Rivian face. Although the form vocabulary will be reminiscent of the R1, the design will be distinctly an R2 and stay true to our core brand values."

Rivian's Visualization Team brought the design studio to the Venice Hub and showcased how powerful a tool virtual reality can be. Community members were able to preview any R1 vehicle configuration at full size in VR and speak to designers about their experience.
