Rivian families and friends gathered for the fifth annual Family & Friends Day at our Plant in Normal, IL on Sunday, July 12. The free event featured over 20 vendors and activities.
“What a wonderful day in the sun yesterday, enjoying each other along with our families and friends, to come to the Plant and experience so many different activities,” said Bobby Dean Parker, VP of Manufacturing. “It’s been a busy year for us with the ramp of R2 so it’s great to take a moment and celebrate our team.”

With all there was to do and see, major highlights included R2 vehicle exploration, ALSO EV Bike rides, rock climbing, caricature drawings and complimentary flower bouquets from a local flower truck. Self-guided plant catwalk tours gave attendees a look onto the manufacturing floor. Live music and an exotic petting zoo were enjoyed by all ages. And returning year after year, was the dunk tank featuring senior leadership.
Family & Friends Day at the Plant is part of an enterprise effort across Rivian centers of gravity to celebrate and appreciate Rivian employees and their family and friends.
