RIVIAN BECOMES FIRST AUTOMAKER TO SIGN UNITED NATIONS 24/7 CARBON-FREE ENERGY COMPACT

In pursuit of our commitment to net-zero carbon by 2040, Rivian has become the first automaker and one of the first ten energy buyers to sign the United Nations 24/7 Energy Compact.

“As a mission-driven company founded to accelerate the transformation to clean transportation, we are not comfortable allowing emissions to shift from tailpipes to power plants. We take our responsibility seriously to drive system-wide decarbonization.”

Anisa Costa Rivian Chief Sustainability Officer

The UN 24/7 Carbon-free Energy Compact promotes collective actions toward ensuring every kilowatt-hour of electricity consumption is met with carbon-free electricity sources, every hour of every day, everywhere.

Joining the UN Compact enables Rivian to further collaborate with energy buyers, suppliers and other grid stakeholders to design and scale solutions, all toward our effort to grow the clean energy movement.
