The Rivian Adventure Network is powering more adventures than ever before. As we move into spring, we’ll soon see the first R2 drivers plugging in.
To prepare for this new chapter and the expansion of our community, we are scaling our charging infrastructure to ensure that every electric vehicle driver, whether in an R1, an R2, or a non-Rivian EV, has the power to go further on their journey.
Designed for Every Vehicle
Rivian owners have known the "plug-and-play" simplicity of our network for years, and in late 2024 we began opening up the Rivian Adventure Network to all electric vehicles. Today, nearly every site supports all compatible EVs, and we’re in the process of adding NACS connectors in addition to the CCS1 onsite. Our newest chargers are taller and more accessible with long cables designed to reach every vehicle charge port location. And to make it as easy as buying your morning coffee, we’ve added tap-to-pay terminals for non-Rivian drivers—no app required.
If you do find yourself planning a road trip, you can find every Rivian Adventure Network site, along with live availability, in your Rivian in-car navigation or other app-based maps and public charging locators.
Quality Uptime You Can Count On
At the heart of our network is an uncompromising focus on quality. We believe that a charger is only as good as its last session, which is why the Rivian Adventure Network is built for a truly seamless experience. By owning the hardware, software, and localized maintenance, we’ve maintained a 98% uptime across the network in 2025 and continue the push for reliability in 2026 and beyond. This ensures that when you pull up to a RAN site in the middle of a road trip or down the street, you're finding a high-speed charging connection that works the first time, every time.
Part of a Growing Ecosystem
While our own network is a core pillar of the Rivian experience, it is part of a massive, nationwide shift toward electrification. It’s easier now to charge on a road trip than ever before—as of early 2026, there are nearly 15,000 Level 3 DC fast-charging locations with over 70,000 individual charge ports available across the country*.
To stay ahead of this demand, we’ve future-proofed our sites. The major underground infrastructure (the "invisible" work of conduits and power capacity) is already in place at most RAN locations. This allows us to rapidly deploy new chargers, as the R2 and overall electric vehicle fleet grows, without the need for additional heavy construction.
Whether your adventure takes you to a Rivian Adventure Network site or or another high-quality third-party charging location, the goal remains the same: a smooth charging experience for your road trip and beyond.
Reserve your R2 and get updates on production, upcoming events, demo drives in your area and more as we get closer to bringing R2 to the road.
