The Cuevas Family doesn’t usually record their chats from inside a car. But, spending the day in a quiet cabin with the world going by outside the windows, their R1S road trip did prompt some big questions. And asking big questions is what “Small Talk” is all about.
Jorge and Bethany Cuevas and their daughters, Zara, Billie and Margot, in partnership with Rivian, drove R1S from Brooklyn to upstate New York to visit their grandparents. Along the way, they chatted about their dreams, what it’s like to grow up and how to find adventures wherever you look.
“If you see bunnies, that’s an adventure.”
Collaborating with the Cuevas Family was inspiring. We knew the new R1S captain’s chairs would be more than a mobile studio, that it would give them plenty of room to dream on their trip. As Jorge put it, “A drive really does get you thinking and helps go a little further in a typical conversation or [talking about] ideas. I’d say it helps you dream.”
That kind of space is an absolute must for a creative family with three inquisitive kids. “We all need downtime,” Jorge says. “It’s something very easy to forget when all wheels are turning, we are on a specific family mission and we are just doing our thing. You forget sometimes we need to just take in some quiet time and it’s okay to be bored.”
We couldn’t agree more. R1S is a place for dreaming, no matter how old you are.
